Your Privacy Matters

To ensure that you are informed about how Vivid Blue Press uses personal data, we’ve updated the privacy policies for our site and newsletter. Please look over the new details, which will be effective starting May 25, 2018. Here is some information on our policies:

Why we process personal data and what we use it for

We collect data from the user signing up for our newsletter. We do not share this information with anyone and the data is used to create newsletters keeping you informed of news, reviews, sales, releases, etc from Vivid Blue Press. We only collect email addresses and names.

We are currently in the process of contacting all subscribers and asking them to re-subscribe. Anyone who does not re-subscribe will be removed from the mailing list. New subscribers will be prompted to resubscribe to newsletters every three years.

Held on file with Mailchimp – Email, and Name you signed up with. There could also be an indication of why a subscriber signed up (a promotion for a particular series to enable targeted marketing for a new release in that series).

Held on file with WordPress – anyone who signs up with the website – the site holds your name and email to be able to send you updates whenever something is added to the site.

Held on file with Rafflecopter – anyone who signs up, or engages in a contest – the site holds your name, email, IP address you entered the contest with. Postal addresses may be collected for signed paperbacks/swag giveaways, but then deleted after the prize has been posted.

  • We use Google Analytics and Amazon Associates codes, and these use cookies.
  • We embed content from Mailchimp.
  • We collect information for our email list.

WHAT COUNTS AS PERSONAL DATA?

Personal data is any information that can be used to identify someone, whether through direct or indirect means, including commonly used online identifiers such as cookies and location data. On this site:

  • The consent box in email subscriptions is not pre-ticked by default.
  • We gather emails to enable us to send out newsletters.
  • Consent for cookie usage is now included in any signups.
  • We do not share a user’s information with any third-party promoters.
  • Before users can leave a comment, we will get consent by using a checkbox and disclose that this site will store comments and information relating to the comment such as the date and computer’s IP address. This data is not used in any way by Vivid Blue Press or RJ Jones.

RIGHT OF ACCESS

Data subjects have the right to access their personal data and to know how it is being processed.

Right to be forgotten – this policy allows EU data subjects to request to have all their data deleted from your server or transferred to another company.

Breach of personal data we will notify the Supervisory Authority within 72 hours unless the breach is harmless and poses no risk to the individual. If a breach is concluded to be high risk, VIvid Blue Press will inform the individual as well.

PERSONAL ADDRESSES

When buying signed paperbacks from us (or winning them in competitions) we will collect name, address, and email. This data is held in secure files and is not shared with anyone outside of Vivid Blue Press and the postal company who deliver the parcel. The data is deleted from our servers after the books have been sent out.

Subscribing

I will be asking all subscribers to RJ Jones to opt-out in May 2018. If you decide not to unsubscribe, then the assumption will be that you still wish to receive my newsletters. Newsletters are only sent out to advise of a new release, contest, or exclusive content.

Data collected in each case – Name, Email address.

Duration – all details will be held for three years unless during that time you unsubscribe. At the end of the three years, each subscriber will be asked to subscribe again.

Unsubscribing:

Subscribers can opt out of newsletters at any time. At the bottom of every newsletter there is an option to unsubscribe. Followers of any WordPress or Social Media platform can unfollow at any time.
